Introduction to E-textiles

Lighten Up! was a workshop developed after Alice learned about lighted bookmarks from Mariano, Mario and Allie from Parachute Factory in 2014!  Since then and with much input from co-presenters in our Lighten Up! Outreach Workshops around NM, Lighten Up! has become a way of looking at everyday things!  Because of the excitement generated by some of the displays in our workshops, in addition to our original Lighten Up! Outreach Workshops, we are developing more advanced ones that include several single color (or flashing) LED, rechargeable batteries, addressable RGB LED, programmable microcontrollers and much more!

Our first series of Introductory (to be held on October 8th), Intermediate (to be held on October 15th) and Advanced I (to be held on October 22nd) e-textiles workshops have been scheduled for October 2016 — just in time for Halloween and the Holidays!

This introductory workshop will introduce you to the basic e-textile circuit, how to sew with conductive thread and how to avoid short circuits and still have an attractive e-textile!  It is also required for our follow-on Intermediate and Advanced workshops.

If you had already attended one of our Outreach Workshops, you may go on to take the Intermediate and Advanced workshops!  Cost for Workshop includes all necessary materials.
